The Palm Desert Area Chamber of Commerce is honored to announce Patrick Somers, General Manager of General Air Conditioning and Plumbing, as its 2018-2019 Board Chairman. “It is a great honor to be the PDACC Chairman. The Palm Desert Area Chamber of Commerce is an amazing organization, with strong leadership, and has a knowledgeable, friendly staff. Most importantly, we have a powerful membership community making the future bright,” stated Patrick Somers, Chairman of the Board. Patrick is married to his wife, Mary Beth, and they have four children. Patrick is a huge IndyCar fan and enjoys practicing Jiu Jitsu.

In 1999, Patrick and Mary Beth moved to Palm Desert after he accepted an offer from a relative to help launch and manage a dry-cleaning business. Patrick eventually set out to start his own dry-cleaning business offering pickup and delivery service, while at the same time working as Operations Manager for US Dry Cleaning Corporation. With the economic downturn, Patrick sold the cleaners and applied to General Air as a Service Technician. Patrick worked his way up to Service Manager and was later promoted to General Manager.

“I have the privilege of leading a great group of individuals who as a team deliver an unmatched client experience in the residential and light commercial HVAC, plumbing, and drain cleaning home services in the Coachella Valley. I am responsible for the continued growth and success of the company, its culture and team members,” said Patrick Somers, PDACC Board Chairman. Patrick and Francisco Rodriguez purchased the business from Frank Harrison who still serves as a mentor.

“I am thrilled to welcome Patrick Somers as our Board Chair. Patrick is a natural leader, a family man, a successful businessman, and a friend. I am excited to work with Patrick and I know our Board of Directors feels the same way. The Palm Desert Area Chamber of Commerce is already a thriving organization thanks to our amazing members, but we are going to elevate our game to the next level,” proclaimed Todd Rhoden, PDACC President and Chief Executive Officer.
