Cale Vinzant – Forest Lawn Memorial Park
Tenacious and persistent, Cale Loren Vinzant is a Survivor of many experiences that most of us can only imagine. As a child, Cale ran away from home, sued his parents to become an emancipated minor, was placed in a foster home, and later adopted. He is grateful for his extended family and for their love and support.
After working in professions as diverse as property management, insurance, restaurants, and horticulture, Cale was diagnosed with not one, but two different types of Brain Cancer (Glioblastoma Ependymoma and Craniopharyngioma). Many doctors gave him no hope; others prescribed treatments that failed; finally, a surgeon in San Diego performed an experimental surgery, with successful results.
With a new lease on life, Cale moved to the desert and became an “Advanced Funeral and Cremation Planner” at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. He entered this business because he wanted to help families and individuals reduce the emotional and financial burden associated with funeral planning. Understanding the trauma of trying to make difficult decisions while grieving, Cale listens to and advises people on the importance and value of preplanning funeral arrangements before a death occurs, whether it is for self or for a loved one.
Cale joined the Ambassador team because “I wanted to be a part of an organization that would allow me the opportunity to give back to the community and offer support to our local businesses. As an Ambassador, I have gained friendships with other Ambassadors and developed relationships with new members and businesses.”
Cale also volunteers at the JPL church, and is a member of the Palm Springs Holistic Chamber of Commerce. Cale does not know where he sees himself in five years, but he would like to be remembered for his sense of humor and for not taking things for granted.
